1. Select a vase |

2. Turn the vase upside down. |
![]() |
3. Drill a 1 1/4" hole in the middle of the bottom of the vase with hole saw. If there are other holes in the vase seal them with silicone. |
![]() |
4. Place the bulkhead fitting in the hole in the base of the vase. |
![]() |
5. Attach the riser pipe and control valve. |
![]() |
6. The vase is plumbed and ready to install. |
![]() |
7. Pick a good location for the fountain. |
![]() |
8. Turn the reservoir upside down and mark the shape of the fountain. |
![]() |
9. Dig the hole for the reservoir to a depth of 10". |
![]() |
10. Place the reservoir in the newly dug hole and level. |
![]() |
11. Place two cinder blocks inside the reservoir to support the vase. Backfill between the edges of the hole and the reservoir. (For the 2' by 2' fountain kit use two half cinder blocks as pictured, for the 3' by 3' and the 4' by 4' fountain kits use full sized cinder blocks.) |

12. Place the pump in the reservoir with the tubing attached. Place the tubing between the cinder blocks. |
![]() |
13. Place the heavy duty grate over the cinder blocks with the tubing through the middle of the grate. |
![]() |
14. Place the sheet of 1/4" mesh over the reservoir. The mesh keeps the fine rocks from falling into the reservoir. (A hole must be cut in the middle of the mesh sheet for the tubing to pass through.) |
![]() |
15. Attach the vase to the tubing. This may require a little effort as the fit should be tight. |
![]() |
16. Stand the vase upright with the tubing through the grate and mesh. If necessary, level the vase using pennies under the base to elevate the vase. |
![]() |
17. Cover the reservoir with rocks or gravel. Use a color to accent the vase. |
![]() |
18. Fill the vase and reservoir with water and turn the pump on. The flow rate can be controlled with the ball valve inside the vase. The feature will need to be filled or topped off with water depending on the evaporation rate every two to three weeks. |
